This pin honors Hindoo, who won the 1881 Kentucky Derby by four lengths with jockey Jim McLaughlin up after an almost-upset by Lex Ex. Hindoo was bred at the Elmendorf Farm by Daniel Swigert, owner of 1877 Derby Winner Baden-Baden. He was later sold to the Dwyer Brothers Stable and trained by Ed D. Brown and James G.
