She was one of only three fillies to win the Kentucky Derby in its 137 year history, and was inducted into the U. S. Racing Hall of Fame in 1957. She is ranked #71 in Blood-Horse Magazine’s Top 100 Horses of the 20th Century. Regret was bred and owned by Harry Payne Whitney at Brookdale Farm in Lincroft, New Jersey and trained by James G.
