This pin honors Paul Jones, winner of the 1920 Kentucky Derby by a nose over Upset with jockey Ted Rice up. He was bred by John E. Madden at Hamburg Place in Lexington, Kentucky, who had already produced two Derby winners: Old Rosebud in 1914 and Sir Barton in 1919. Paul Jones was owned by Ral Parr and J. S. Cosden and trained by William Garth.
