This pin honors Lawrin, winner of the 1938 Kentucky Derby with future U.S. Racing Hall of Fame jockey Eddie Arcaro up. Although Lawrin began to tire halfway through the race, he managed to rally to win over Dauber. Lawrin was bred and owned by Herbert M. Woolf of Woolford Stud Farm in Kansas and trained by Ben A. Jones. Lawrin remains the only Derby winner to come from Kansas.
