1876 Vagrant Tac Pin
This pin honors Vagrant, who won the 1876 Kentucky Derby by two lengths over Parole, winning $2,950. Ridden by jockey Robert Swim, owned by J.J. Nichols, trained by A. Davis Pryor and Kentucky bred by Milton H. Stanford of Elmendorf Stud Farm in Fayette County, Kentucky, Vagrant won a shared title of U. S. Champion Two-Year-Old-Colt with his Derby rival Parole. After his success, Vagrant is rumored to have "gone to pasture" pulling a vegetable cart in Lexington, KY.
