1884 Buchanan Tac Pin

This pin honors Buchanan, who won the 1884 Kentucky Derby after a rough and unruly start. Buchanan, before and after his win at the Derby, was known as a difficult horse to control, but three-time Derby winning jockey Isaac Burns Murphy managed to tame him for the race. Buchanan was bred by William Cottrill and J. W. Guest and owned by Cottrill and Samuel S. Brown. A Kentucky Derby Museum Exclusive. Pin measures 0.75 X 1.
