This pin honors Judge Himes, winner of the 1903 Kentucky Derby after a bad start. With jockey Harold Booker up, Judge Himes conserved strength until the final stretch, pushing forward to win. Judge Himes was bred by Johnson N. Camden, owned by Charles R. Ellison and trained by John P. Mayberry.
