1975 Foolish Pleasure Tac Pin
This pin honors Foolish Pleasure, winner of the 1975 Kentucky Derby with jockey Jacinto Vasquez up. In the Derby race, Foolish Pleasure advanced in a strong rush around the second turn to win over Avatar. He would come in 2nd in both the Preakness and the Belmont stakes races. Foolish Pleasure was bred and owned by John L. Greer of Waldemar Farms, Inc. and trained by LeRoy Jolley. Although he ran just short of a Triple Crown by only placing in the Preakness and Belmont, his skill has been recognized: he is ranked #97 in The Blood-Horse magazine’s Top 100 Racehorses of the 20th Century and was inducted into the U.S. Racing Hall of Fame in 1995.
A Kentucky Derby Museum Exclusive.
