1981 Pleasant Colony Tac Pin
This pin honors Pleasant Colony, winner of the 1981 Kentucky Derby with jockey Jorge Velasquez up. Pleasant Colony carefully raced to win in the last stretch over Woodchopper by less than a length. He would go on to win the Preakness, but fall short in the Belmont. Pleasant Colony was bred by Thomas Mellon Evans of Buckland Farms in Virginia and trained by John P. Campo.
