1998 Real Quiet Tac Pin
This pin honors Real Quiet, winner of the 1998 Kentucky Derby with Racing Hall of Fame jockey Kent Desormeaux up. Real Quiet made a dramatic advance to the front of the field to win over Victory Gallop; although Real Quiet would in the Preakness, he would fall short to Victory Gallop in the Belmont. He retired to Taylor Made Farms in Kentucky as a stud, and then continued that career at Regal Heir Farms in Pennsylvania. Real Quiet was bred by Eduardo Gaviria at Little Hill Farm, owned by Michaele Pegram of Fort Knox, Kentucky and trained by Racing Hall of Fame inductee Bob Baffert.
